March 21, 2020
Continental Breakfast
8:30 a.m.

9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Presented by Dr. Govind Bharwani. This symposium is provided at no cost. Reservation requested by Monday, March 16.

Dr. Bharwani is an adjunct professor at Wright State University in Dayton, OH.  He has received six national awards for his work with residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and we are excited to bring his knowledge and experience to our congregation.

This session will help home caregivers and those who visit effectively deal with those challenges and, at the same time, reduce their own stress. The anatomy of the brain as well as a basic understanding of neuroscience and dementia will be discussed. Dr. Bharwani will explain which parts of the brain are affected by Alzheimer’s disease and provide practical solutions to interact with someone with dementia using award winning techniques. We will learn how to create an “Alzheimer’s friendly environment” as well as how to deal with difficult behaviors.
